"Split Personality

Be what you are. Not what they want.

"Split Personality

What do you want to be when you grow up?,

How many times have they asked you that?,

The best answer I could give them was nothing at all,

Sometimes they looked concerned or was taken aback.

I assure you the answer is sound and the reason as to how,

It is the limits you set that keep you bound,

Let me explain when you go to the zoo and see a lion in it's cage,

If you jump in the enclosure will you be maimed?

Or will they be tame?,

Technically both are correct,
As between the time you leapt and then landed,

The decision was made from the fear you feel, and the teeth they've brandished.

The question isn't will you live or die or run and hide,

It is that no matter what you do next,

It has already been inscribed so why decide?,

Fighting the flow will only make the rapids grow,

Nobody knows how deep the shallows are,

until you dip your toes.

The poetry that's ripped from me,

Is from poison the tastiest mead,

I would love to be set free,

But I'm split between two personalities.

A complex concoction of bastard and brew,

Similar to oil and water,

Their better off left unmixed and crude.

WILLIAMSJI MAVELI WRITES....

Upon the bough, so gracefully they lean,
Two tender buds, in robes of nascent green.
