SPOONING CARROTS...

what shall we do....when...
the mocking bird sings
to pounce upon sparrows of
nurturing wings
I thought about that.. today,
a Sunday dinner
over 40 years old
plates of chaos and comfort
familiarities, so bold...
I thought about it, when...
I looked deeply at you
doing nothing at all different
doing nothing so newÂ
just spooning carrots
setting places
dishing smiles to the faces
filling plates up with love
parent hugs, and
warm wishes
though a fragility I saw, in
the image there too
a frailty quite new
there... more cracks scored on
you...
It struck me even granite
will one day
fall down into time...
it spurred me to capture
those moments
as mine...
I thought about it all, as
I looked into you
framed some snapshots in
diamond dust
begged from a moon...
then I blocked up my ears, to
that ancientÂ
old tune
though it chirp's still within, when
I look at you two...
and I wonder...
what shall we do, when
the mocking bird sings

Hi Mr Fish...tis about realising how events set in stone will inevitably become memories. I had a vivid sensation today whilst having dinner at my ageing parents that the majority of those dinners are behind us and that I must pay very special attention to all future get togethers....or something like that. Thanks for your lovely comment 💕
