Stained Glass

Stained Glass

The glass is the epitome of beauty

A wonderful delight for pilgrims to see

Piercing sunlight highlights the colours

Vibrant and sharp as spring flowers

The rest of the church is in shadow

So this glorious window appears to glow

A true manifestation of Gods glory

As the spiritual images tell of a lasting legacy

Of blessings being spread throughout the land

As saints guide with tenderness all understand

The magnificence of what is before us this day

Can do nothing but take your breathe away.

Precisely because of this celestial effect stained glass windows were installed in all churches and cathedrals during the Gothic and Baroque, the stained glass windows still images projected a Zenithal light that invites to prayer or simply meditate. A greeting.
