The Stallion

He galloped around his clan
Pride is his weakness
But danger is his instinct
He knew he would have the fight of his life
He could sense it near

Could feel it in the air
The challenge could be heard
Shrill and clear, as it rang through the air
From a stallion of his likeness
Of his equalness
This is his life; fighting, victory,
Surviving another day
He studied his rival on the hill
noting the magnificence, the power
He waited, patient, knowing full well
A lifeless creature would lie on that hill
Only one could walk away
The stallion galloped down the hill
With a look in his eye
A look only seen in these creatures
He rose to his fullest
His scream piercing the breeze
As the two wild horses met in the air
This,
is life
This,
is nature
This,
is a stallion.
