STARING AND REFLECTING

Staring out onto the busy and overcrowded street
So many eyes of people he decides to take a seat
There are kids on this street maybe nine or ten
He remembers their age and wishes he was again

Mothers with kids he also happens to see
All holding hands so their children don't break free
He remembers his mother with tears in eyes
Wishing she was still here would make a lovely surprise

Across the street businessmen are there too
Doing everything on the phone is what they now do
The time he spent at work he would gladly recall
Time to go now as he felt the first spots of rainfall
