The Stars & Trees

I look up at the stars and the trees.

Sitting here I feel a slight breeze

Everything that I had is being taken from me

No one can get that I have to be free

As the pieces of my heart break,

I try to get through the day to turn this long page.

I look up at the stars and the trees.

Flashes from the past make me want to go back and make time freeze.

I thought back then that my life had began;

Maybe now I can start to think of another plan.

I look up at the stars and the trees.

Everyone that I care about is starting to leave.

I was wrong when I thought that they all cared about me.

From now on I have to be careful of who I believe;

From now on I have to be sure of who will deceive.

As the lightning strikes across the skies;

I catch a glimpse of everyone who had ever told me lies.

I look up at the stars and the trees.

In these past years I've seen things that I don’t want to see,

I've seen heartbreak between you and me.

I just wish that we could be with each other,

Both of us wanting to go further together.

I look up at the stars and the trees,

I think of everything that we could be,

I imagine what I want people to see in me,

That I’m everything that they can believe.
