Steppford Buttercross

Steppford Buttercross

forty degrees outside of
her Chanel twinset..
(Ambient Temperature)
yet she
navigates this heat
with the proficiency
of a champion skater..clutching
her gingham topped woven
basket with
promise of chive and feta
and a taster of sauvignon
lingers on last nights lips
rouged to perfection
and glued not to slender hips
do not intercept her
(these ladies not from Mars)
on a mission to perfect
our Venus direct
..she has gained wheels and
wicker basket handlebars
I still don't see the on/off switch
maybe cruise control   ? just the ticket!

Ahh, to be one of these women....haha on the surface they seem to have it all, the ability to make the world see them as doing and saying the right things and still have time to look good...the image of onlooker perfection...
Unlike those who look like they've just rolled out of bed (everyday) and just manage to get the kids to school on time ...and who ALWAYS says the wrong thing at the wrong time (i'm the latter by the way)

Maybe they dont need an on off switch...maybe something else is missing....possibly real happiness??

love your comment Lorna...I see this women..and older woman dressed immaculate in their straw hats and cardigans in the height of our Summer.and I love them..  I want to be one of them in the next decade.. with ruby lips and rouge..but skip the bike..let us ladies be flamboyant and classy if we desire..or just whatever we want to be without rebuke or comment from others..xx..
