Stickle Bricks & Sand Pits

Stickle Bricks & Sand Pits

Like stickle bricks in a sand pitΒ
Memories are lost in time
Avalanches of lost emotionsΒ
Clog up elements like lime

Wishing for simple pleasures
Lost emotions in a flash floodΒ
Viscous thick and unforgivingΒ
Akin to three day festival mudΒ

We swim like flies in a full fat lattes
On a hot Sunday 80s afternoonΒ
We drown like slugs in beer cans
Relishing in our own ruin

Some day I hope to meet againΒ
But certainly not too soon
A wilted plant being watered
Should be given time to bloom
