Stigmata (the hypocrisy)

Stigmata (the hypocrisy)

As my indoctrination
Carries me to Church
I recognize the stigmata
The lashes across my back
Irreverent
My wrists and feet
Bleed
My side pulsing with pain
As I approach the false
Altar
For I recognize
Through a crown of thorns
That God is within me
And not only me
But alive in everyone
Not in edifices
Of wood and stone
Where hidden gospels
Would reveal
All on their own
The blood involved in faith
But
Would the powers that be
Really reveal
Jesus himself as alone, bleeding
And dying
Where he wept tears
Of the hypocrisy
Involved
In Churches
Themselves ....

What's up buddy?

Awesome write my friend......Many chills felt emanating, after reading this piece, (Tone)....Made me think of the movie "Stigmata," one of my favorites. There should never be an element of surprise, (from the reader,) attached to your writings Tony T., (always) are they to be in a class within itself...

Take Care, Jim

My Dear Brother Poet Tony,

.

The flagellation of humanity is hidden behind untruthful church doors

Hypocrisy is secreted so deep, in their vestibules evermore

But now we have modern technology, that has exposed all these blasphemes

And the tithes of countless centuries, no longer shall they ever be

.

For too long has the Church been exploiting us, we've suffered as they often played

For they thought that their secret we would never learn, but now it has been waylaid

No longer shall you rule all of our lives, only God do we ever respect

For now we know of your true intentions, and they are so circumspect

.

Peace, Love and Rockets,

Larry xxx
