STILL

He did love her. Though he did not fully know how, because he had never known a love outside of himself until the night he fell for her.

She was just as damaged, in her own peculiar way. She needed to be seen. To be reminded of her worthiness of love.

As they danced together they tore each other apart, all while hoping the song would never end, though knowing eventually it would.

The ending invites the curse of silence, as they pick their pieces off the floor. And in the quiet they can see with clarity the grace from which they fell.

The stillness leaves bitter memory of what it means to love and lose. What happens when the music dies, when love ends in a stalemate.
