Stop acting so "adult", you're not even a centrarian

Stop acting so "adult", you're not even a centrarian

Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Other
sitting side by side

See!

Why do people have to make it so complicated?

Can't we give each other the dignity

To make our own decisions

To think through what makes the most compelling case

and wish the better team win wherever accolades are due

Faith is of the heart, deeds are of the hands

Let's honour one another for what we get right

and compete to be more loving
by doing what is just

If you see God a different way I pray the Lord receive you

and hope that what I see has truth and that I'll be blessed too

I would much rather talk about religion then politics, of course they are both so inter connected. I took part in a prayer circle once on top of sacred Native American burial grounds in Newark, Ohio.
Then, I went to a non-denominal church to hear gossip music, and finally, I sat with a Christian woman who I mistakenly told her about the Shaman who blessed me before I entered into the circle, to dance. She told me I had invited evil into my spirit and that Native American's were evil, by nature. (in so many words).

I tried hard to remain in my seat as she spoke to me, because at the time, I was so full of heartache and was trying to receive prayer, in whatever way it was shown to me. I think I learned more about religion when I went to the first Native American celebration, then at any Baptist or Christian church could ever show me. Anyhow, that is my take on religion. Great writing as always. Your poem made me think.

Long story short, I'm still confused.

But my heart and spirit tell me: Jesus, God, Mary and Grand Father God are all real. One day, to know all the answers and be totally filled up with love, instead of indifferences.

Good job!

oh yes, I have certainly been there many times. My response is generally, "I can see where you're coming from. But it should not make you afraid. If the light of the Creator of Heaven and Earth is in you then you have been given a Holy Spirit of "love, power and a sound mind". To think otherwise would be a view of God perhaps a bit too small. Let's allow God to lead the way and not put God in a box."
