your reality dismantled itself

through the perforations in your chest

your light faltered with a static noise

and you smiled at him

trying not to fade out

butterflies

are made of you

they broke apart

in the soft wind

when your place 

shifted beyond the sands

and you became poetry

without ever hearing

those spoken words

a lighthouse

was named after you

but it can never

rescue you from the fog

while you sleep

on the surface of the ocean

and the tides hold you

in eternal dreams

you are photos and left behind letters

dipped in the fragrance of his familiar eyes

in time and space, his hands tremble

you were the glitter in his cosmos

until the butterflies took you.
