Strangers outside

Sleeping in the glow of a candle lit room,
strangers pass outside in the night.
Our paths crossing only through vibrations,
I will never know you,
Stranger, whose waves wake me from time to time
Traveling near me I can only hear you,
your physical qualities are not apparent
but I know you exist
for our energies are kinetic and potential.
Waves caused by your stomping feet.
I know you are out there,
lingering, traveling, and searching in the night.
you are similar to me yet unknown altogether.
By chance or fate I am woken by your laugh and vocalizations.
yet you are a trickster and a voice shifter,
The language is the same but the sound varies.
These variations admit pluralities, you are not alone,
as I perceive multiplicity.
Stirring sounds, you create,
unintentionally spread the silence which was my comfort.
I understand we coexist as strangers,
acquaintances, friends and foes,
but must you wake me from my slumber?
your laugh is loud unlike giggle.
Next time you pass, please whisper low.
I cannot stand your waking waves
while sleeping by fires' glow.
