" STREET MAGICIAN "

All the onlookers in Washington Square Park
Stand befuddled!
A woman scratches her head wondering
"Where's my watch?"
This man is not just "Magic" ~he's a maestro
Waving his baton, conducting the crowd, and gathering dollars
So that, when evening comes, he has a place to sleep
And as he gazes over his constantly morphing crowd
He can see the woman who's most likely to give him a twenty
And with unparalleled precision, he steps with intent and asks,
"Dear lady may I see your watch?"
"Of course!" she reply's, for she must surely please the crowd
And as her jewelry vanishes and the crowd thunders
With streetwise pride
The magician slips money into his pockets on each side
Now, how clever is this?
For the truth behind this public tryst
Is that he lives in a beautiful condo
In lovely Greenwich Village
Yes dear Street Magician
You do us honor....

Thanx Feathers!!........I have always appreciated the street magician........thanx for this my friend!!..........T xo
Hi t a great write . I can see the magician as a politician too because they both use slight of hand and you think he is doing this while all along he is fooling everyone in the room . Cheers hrl
Hey Hardrocklover!!.....you make a MOST interesting point here..........magic is VERY much like politics for the reasons you so eloquently pointed out...........even some of the magicians I hang out with agree.........you are insightful my friend..........thanx for this............Love and Rockets!!..........T xo
Love this write T, I really enjoyed your point of view; not giving away secrets about the magic, but giving secrets about the person behind the magic...thanks for that my friend, cause I love magic, when it is good it suspends disbelief, (like 'good' poetry) and I honestly believe poetry is a form of 'magic' in of itself, just saying.....part of the street magician's appeal is the interaction with the crowd, in France I saw this amazing street magician and he had a big crown, most of his act was his ability to 'work' the crowd; entertain with words to compliment the magic; and David Blain would not be the same if he just stood on an empty stage and just performed....the interactive element is all part of it, I love that you showed that in the write....as they say in jolly ole England; this is a terribly entertaining write ole chap; (for the record I've never heard anyone speak like that lol) very cool T....this isn't the only poem you've ever written on magic; I remember another one where the subject of David Blain came up as well....anyway great subject and write...have great evening pal
So sorry my friend!!.........sorry I didn't see this before..........thanx for bringing it to my attention because you DO truly understand "The heart Of The Code"...........NEVER reveal your secrets..........it's a part of being allowed to be a member of I.B.M. (International Brotherhood of Magicians)..........if you're found to break this rule........you are kicked out of the Brotherhood...........I truly appreciate this most AWESOME and insightful comment my friend..........miss you..........Love and Rockets!!...........T xo
