STREET SHOPS

The butchers on the corner isn't there anymore
Pulled down for fancy flats I know for sure
The paper shop doesn't trade and has disappeared
No shops on my street which is really weird

The hairdresser no longer styles ladies hair
Must be at least five years since it was there
The general store where once everyone met
Is now an eyesore everyone wants to forget

So sad to see a street without any shops
The bus into the city fortunately still stops
Takes you to a supermarket where I know for certain
Has left the street shop singing the final curtain
