Streets

Streets

look at me, do you sense my fear

perhaps I should run away from here

danger is not what I need today

even at night I venture this way

the fear I have is all in my head

nobody's body was really found dead

thoughts and dreams took away my strength

to get it back I must go a long length

gain my control I will carry a weapon

watch and be cautious of where I am stepping

afraid of what I may say to myself

nothing I cannot put on a shelf

the shelf is there for a reason you see

to protect myself from dangerous me

Digging up my past writings I see too how fearful I was and for good reason at that time. The past is like slamming your brakes on and a car and finding out what falls on you from the backseat. Thank you for your enlightenment!!
