Stupidity of man

Stupidity of man

There is nowhere for pedestrians
We have been cast aside by concrete
Pushed aside by motorbikes
Tossed aside by vehicles
These eyes do not see anything now
But a concrete jungle
Green fields no more
-
There is no pathway for my legs
I have been tossed aside
Like a tomato thrown out of a salad
And a cucumber forgotten
Where is the green earth
Where are the fields
The green fields of my dreams

Human being
Maker of the rocket
The toaster
The motor vehicle and telephone
Sandwich grill and window
Through which you can no longer see
Your own stupidity
-
The Lord is thy shepherd
He leadeth me through
Green pastures
Except there are non left
Only grey concrete
No place for pedestrians
These feet no longer in touch with the earth

Today is a sad day
These windows no longer hold the truth
Only the blue sky is left above
To witness the stupidity of man
Looking down onto grey concrete
These tears are for green fields
That exist now a memory in my heart

Jai...this truly is a master piece. I"m at a loss for what to say. We have destroyed the home that was so generously given to us and indeed the sky is all that is left to gaze upon our stupidity. The last stanza is perfection.

Where I live they just tor down at least 500-1000 trees to build more shopping malls where there are already to many...I drove by one of these areas and actually thought I was lost because so many trees were gone...It is truly sad how little regard so many people have for the world.

Amazing write, I had to pin it.

Pity I needed to write the pain of humanity
albeit poetry the great medium - I see this destructive force everywhere I go and feel we are killing our selves; before we blame North Korea we can blame ourselves- thankyou Lily for acknowledging. LuVvvv Jai:)
