The Success Of Freedom

The path to freedom can be arduous 

The path to freedom can be perilous

The path to freedom can be long

For so many it was worth holding strong

Rewards for achieving freedom are vast

To see this, you don't have to look to the past !

Everywhere you see freedom today

People are happier...... at work, rest and play !

For freedom is the right to choose

Once attained, you don't want to lose

That which you have fought for so well !

For those currently not free I want to tell

Of freedoms to speak your mind

To decide your own future and find

A way that is truly governed by you alone

To build a place to live, to call your very own !

To grasp the torch of hope is what you do

Making unelected leaders listen to you

For once they understand your power

Their despotic rule won't last an hour

It is the will of the majority that must prevail

Every dictatorship is doomed to fail !

They don't offer anything of any worth

For success look elsewhere, to democracy's birth.
