Sun Upon The Hills

Sun Upon The Hills

  Sun Up On The Hills

Driven in an attraction
Washed over face
Golden amber waves
Retreating shadows
Cringe from behind me
Bright rays, such inviting warmth
Sweating through the heat
Feeling loved by a day so sweet
Vision impaired by sweltering light beams
But still I can see and
Continue to climb,
Up a step-less stairway
Only angels now
coming to rest upon these shoulders.
There's a halo aura
Booming from atop
Crested hill
Where no men's footfalls
Trampled still....
Yet plant peaks
With foreign roots
Such nurturing illumination
Bypassing seed,
Central star hangs for a moment
Worshipping one on bended knee
As touching gleams of radiance
Seem to be honoring me indeed,
A sundance is in order
Paid respects
To crop and field,
While rainmakers away
Mother's children shall play.
