Sunset Blues

The Sundowner

Sunset Blues

Sunset Blues.

The sun sinks,
like India-ink,
black, red and blue,
a picture of you…

The sun sinks,
as I sit and think,
green, blue and red,
your love in my head…

The sun sinks,
over the brink,
blue, red and gray,
the end of the day.

Who Discarded the Red Rose?

A contemplation of my early poem Who Crushed the Yellow Rose

Who Discarded the Red Rose?

Who discarded her heart
and defoliated like a flower
