Sun/Veil/Son

some rifts divide a man from himself it seems
that plain and absolute truth
that never existed to begin with

but with a nod and a smile we'll keep playing the game
the mindless treasure-hunt for that sense of security in who we are
to repeatedly learn that we will never truly know ourselves

we'll use imaginitive imagery to charm the eyes and minds
inflammatory diction to bridge a gorge in the ghost
or cause it
perfection would appear
in the form of contradiction
chaos and order
violence and serenity
the lie to give meaning and value to a truth

indeed we are the ones

who seek ourselves out

and never find

what it is we seek.

Bro, you and your kind words make me smile. :) Thank you so much for the support, it genuinely goes a long way. Maybe someday when I'm dead all this morbid and cynical crap I write will be worth something to somebody. Lol! Stay well my friend, and stay awesome!
