Surreal

Last night I laid by your side but slept alone
It was as if we were in two different rooms
Not because of the distance between us 
But more due to reasons of our lack of communication
Making our current relationship a false presentation
Because it's nothing I had anticipated
At the moment we're failing greatly
Tempting me to rethink past decisions despite the fact that you may hate me
Our future is worth saving at the risk of separation
Feels like i'm being held back yet I long for elevation
In a sense of desperation
For how long must I continue waiting
While time is steady wasting
My life is deteriorating
Filled with anticipation 
I now seek restoration
Because what I once thought I had
I now realize was never in my grasp
