Poem -

Surrender

I would rather perish, my love.

Let the ghost vouchsafe me…

—for I’m dying in segments,

Screaming goodbye to myself.

Furnish me with your affections,

Else I pine for a delusion, aimless

In the fields of the city. My life

Has become fiction, a stranger’s

Dream. Wherefore, an earthquake

Is within me, causing my spirit to

Tremble. Beckon me to the gates,

My love. Permit me entrance into

Your palace… for you’re a rare

Creature, the passion of my soul.

Excellent. I call these kind of pieces "longing" pieces. You feel incomplete because you are longing for someone or something.
