Surrounded by the Sea

Emotions are shed, 
like autumnal leaves, 
on abandoned trees, 
he used to remember, 

Devotion is earned, 
like the wind works for waves, 
that gently rock his haven, 
and steady his unrest, 

Memories slowly fade, 
like the view of land and shore, 
to bother him no more, 
he keeps them in a jar, 

Solitude starts to command, 
to borrow silence from the stars, 
healing forgotten scars, 
there is awe in life he thinks, 

Decisions are made with from within, 
for there is comfort in resolve, 
pains begin to dissolve, 
surrounded by the sea.
