Sweet Serenity

A Cuckoo perches on the branch of a tree,
Its small beak pricks with force and zeal.
I admire this bird that chirps above me.
Sounds are soothing so I don’t squeal.
I sit on a wooden bench feeling peace,
My eyes twinkle with laughter.
Listening to it softly sing with grace,
My burden and pain become lighter.
I call it Sweet Serenity,
It teaches me to persevere and achieve.
To have zeal and suavity,
To be tranquil in sorrow and grieve.
Fly home Sweet Serenity,
May your life lessons save another.
Go well Sweet Serenity,
Fly higher and higher.

Hello Stephanie, I think you captured the gift nature can bring to us in those troubled moments. There is something truly soothing about watching nature in its natural habitat. Here you grant the reader that insight and hope which springs from its beautiful imagery. Thank you for posting such a wise and delightful poemÂ
