~ SWEET SURPRISE ~
It comes
As no surprise
That all things in nature
Are beautiful
Like her peace
Her stillness
That unflinching respect
She has for herselfÂ
So complete
For although she is shy
She never wavers
In her beliefs
She's like the wind
When it is slight
And yet, a constant
She's like the softness
Within the music
Of a mother's lullaby
Like the dream, when you awaken
With a smile....
For many years I have known
Of her existence
And how I have tried so many paths
Across the distances
But when I finally recognized
The peace and quiet in her movements
My spirit screamed
In sweet surprise
For the dayÂ
Had finally arrivedÂ
When I fell
Into her smile
And feltÂ
So deep inside
That I was home
Finally home
In sweet surprise
Where I belonged...
