Swept Away

Swept Away

Ocean waves are pulled to the shore
In a timeless lunar tug of war
The starlight shimmers on the bay
I look outward and I’m swept away

When rivers hear the ocean’s calls
They cut mountains into canyon walls
Grand hues of red and iron gray
I look downward and I’m swept away

Light shadowed nebules, old as time
Weave a tapestry of stars sublime
Comets crisscross the Milky Way
I look upward and I’m swept away

I see my true soul in your eyes
Your body so close, I feel your sighs
My love for you deeper each day
I look inward and I’m swept away
