Symphonies of stone

Symphonies of stone

Clinging amidst our clifftops on the craggy coastline
Are castles and citadels so
majestically fine
Symphonies of stone carefully carved out of man’s bare hands
Chalk, flint and sea pebbles from the silky sands
Strong, safeholds still standing today
Fortifications from fierce fighting affray

Magnificent mansions gorgeously grand
Impressively imposing on my Motherland
Castles fit for a King and his sovereign Queen
boasting beautiful views betwixt and between
Way over the briney blue to the line of the horizon
Perched resolutely ontop of granitic greisen
