Taken so Young

You laid alone in that bed.
After mom and dad went home.
On the pillow you rested your head.
Slowly your time would come,
returning to the Kingdom.
As the disease ran its course.
You tried to fight it, it got worse.
Chemo, radiation, poor child so strong.
You pushed through for so long.
You faught so hard;
You've inspired this verse.
Leukemia, a battle rarely won.
It affects so many;
sadly you were one.
You now play in heaven,
You know, sweet child,
there's no more pain and your
sadness will lessen.
You did all that you could.
Your parents and family
will forever
commemorate your childhood.
Everyone was near,
when you were called home.
Your glorious soul freely floats.
The entire universe
your soul can roam.
I know you let your parents
feel you every night.
Oh sweet sweet child,
You've allowed them this sight
as you continue;
Holding them so tight.
(( back story to this poem, it was written for a person on fb that new this young child who passed away. Such sadness. I became inspired ))

Thank you for your kind words D.
This is truly beautiful and says so much for others in the same situation. I lost my son Andrew to cancer aged 31 in 2009 so I can relate to this piece very well. Well done for a very beautifully well written and well thought out piece.
God bless
Love G xx
Thank you G.
I am sorry to hear about your son. You are very strong.
