Tattered Heart, Tortured Soul

My tattered heart drips each day with purple tears of sadness
From aphotic apertures of appendage
My tortured soul lies in loneliness each night
Vacant, Vacuous
Vanquished by vicissitudes of vanity
They hunger for that which once was
They cry for that which is no more
They writhe in everlasting pain
Yet in masochistic melancholy
For they fear and eschew its antidote
To release you from their carinal cores
To sever the eternal bond
Attempting to recultivate them would be unfair
Their future seed could never prosper and grow
Sequestered in the nefarious nebula of non-existence
Lost forever, a landlocked “Phillip Nolan”
Adrift on roads that lead to nowhere
Marooned on an island
Surrounded by the brine of their own creation
Looking to the stars for answers
That are never forthcoming
Doomed, but unable to save myself
For it is superseded by yourself
For forever, my heart and soul are yours

Hi Larry Wow what a sad and deep outpouring
of emotion. I did`nt know who Philip Nolan was
but looked him up to find he was a lieutenant
who renounced his country and was sentenced
to spend the rest of his days at sea.Your poem
portrays the feeling of feeling lost to me and in pain
through loss (just my interpretation)
it feels to me you bared your soul in this write
my friend and it was heartfelt
well written love and hugs Debs xox
Hi Dear Debs,
Your interpretation is spot on. Although I tried to write it more than just for myself, for anyone who has lost a kindred soulmate. Thank you for your lovely comments and insights.
Hugs, Peace and Love,
xox Larry
Hey Larry a wonderful write of losing a soul mate . I am living this one in real life time .there are times when you think you have found the one but because of cruel fate and circumstances that are out of control loving someone is not always enough . I have learned this best thing to do is to go and find yourself and hit the reboot button to give love another try and hopefully it will last until the end of time .cheers rock
Hi Rock,
So sorry that this poem coincides with your life right now. I'm rooting that when you find that reboot switch, that you hit it right on the button and find everlasting love. Thank you for your kind comments.
Peace and Love, Brother Rock,
xox Larry
