tears of fear

our river are filled with the tears

of the innocent

our beautiful soil is being stained

with the blood of the innocent

sorrow is in the air
pain is our dear friend

Africans are killing Africans

oh mother Africa

where are you when your

sons and daughters are killing

each other 

where is the spirit of togetherness

that you installed in us

fear is roaming the street

of our mother country south Africa

fear of the unknown is causing

hatred against foreigners

where do we expect our

fellow Africans to go

they left their countries to look

for a better life

in this land of sweet and honey

who are we

to chase them away

who are we

to kill them

who are we

to take away their homes

who are we

to steal every thing they worked hard for

who are we

to hate them

and mostly who are we

to judge them

cause we are all equally  in

the eyes of the lord

south Africans are forgetting our past

during apartheid we stood together

with our neighbouring countries

and we fought for our freedom

why cant we unite again

and fight this demon xenophobia

I stand against xenophobia
