TELL it to the trees...

If only daylight would leave the
night alone
But no, it is always meddling,
looking to change things,
Seeking to rearrange things
Concealing the magic, in
Harsh dreary tones
I tried to tell it, that while the
trees may look pretty enough,
Dressed up in green
Nothing compares to nights
silk curtained sheen
Or the eerie still lush of a black
fingered branch
Clutching at moons in the cold
gleaming hush

Love those last two lines! are you a night person Marion? Enjoyed! ...........Jim
Hi Jim...apologies, it wasn't finished ..was in work. Yes..a night person both in job and spirit. The day is a beauty but the night is a magic...thankyou my friend 🤗
I can relate, Texas is usually so hot in the day, you tend to love the eve!....Jim
This was such an amazing write. Marion, sometimes I find poems can be too dramatic or over wordy for my taste (but eh what the hell do I know) but I found this write really great mix of lightness and mystery, whilst still conveying a darker theme. Pinned for being starstrucked. Best wishes. Your friend Max
