TENDER YEARS

In the warmth, the light,
Oh.... that....warmth
Engulfing those tender years
The time spent working
And not enjoying
Those most glorious moments
The highlights
Of one's own life
That seem to roll
Right through the mind
Like a highlight reel
As you sit in your rocking chair
And learn not to despair
At the end of your life
For,
Although the time has rolled on by
There's an inkling inside
A kind, and most nourishing warmth
That the soul recognizes
Filling your spirited awareness
With the perfect paralysis
Of knowing
That your creator
Has chiseled out a special welcoming
Just,
For All of your experiences
To be catalogued and cherished
And held,
In that warmth
Of those
Oh, so tender
Years.....
