Terminal Cancer

The Inevitable End

Cancer it breaks Cancer it takes,
It erodes and corrodes body and soul,
Lingers takes a hold no stopping or control,
Terminal it is with an apparent ending,
Loss of hope no point in pretending,
Life span is against nature's clock,
Head now on the proverbial block,
Spreads with ease the cardinal disease,
Painful fulfilment never set to ease,
Deterioration quickens as body weakons,
The illness striving towards winning beacons,
Inhabiting a life now just day to day living,
Sickness taking it all with it so unforgiving,
maintain dignity the only hope thats now left,
Cancers taken everything and will do till death,
Now being a shadow of ones once former self,
A serious turn of inevitable Ill health,
undetected, unnoticed overseen by mere testing
Accumulating within cells rapidly festering,
Agonising pain fills veins no relief no escape,
Waiting for the moment of death a neverending wait,
Until the death rattle echoes and consumes last breath,
Only remaining hope left is there is a life after death.
