My pen is poised on a blank page 
A new poem is about to take centre stage 
Will it be funny or will it be sad ? 
Will it make you depressed or feel thankful and glad ? 

The world today lends itself to poem and verse 
People are destroying our world what could be worse ? 
I personally need to express myself in the written word 
To me its a great way of getting oneself noticed and heard
