Poem -

Thanks Lord

Thank you Lord for what I have today
the cool wind, the sun's warm ray
I am grateful for the food upon my plate
the calm darkness that settles late
You woke me from my slumber early this morning
and even though I was grumpy and scorning
You still sought me fit to live
so that to others I could give
A word of encouragement to those who hurt
who feel their life amounts to a speck of dirt
These men who are with me bound in chains
singing of heaven's angels sweet refrains
We struggle together that much is true
but for them anything I would do
To make it easier what they're going through
to share the spirit inside of me that's you.
