That awful night

That awful night

Time stood still that night as her husband’s heart stopped when he walked along the corridor and suddenly dropped..no more would she hear him coughing when he came along the hall.... his snoring used to drive her crazy, she was driven up the wall.. but he was gone without any warning..in the blink of an eye..Oh how she we was going to miss him why an earth did he have to die

She phoned her son in law and told him to come down and he landed with her eldest daughter, Mam stood in her dressing gown..with the front door open.. her face was ashen white.. she was in a state of complete shock, on this unexpected, terrible night.. but there was Grandad looking like he was asleep on the hallway floor, all of them had seen this expression on his face a hundred times or more

Yet he appeared to be more peaceful but with a sense that something was amiss.. they couldn’t put their finger on it.. his daughter knelt and gave him a kiss.. as the family stared as him they all sensed a strange sensation.. had his soul left his body and rose away to his heavenly salvation ? Well something certainly happened coz they all felt the very same.. that awful night when father died and they thought the angels came
