Poem -

That Day.

That Day.

Every grisly detail of that day haunts me still

Even now, halting the tears takes all my will

As I throw my heart and soul into anything

Just so my mind isn't torn apart by the suffering.

Keeping busy with any concern or any chore,

I'm not constantly dwelling on events any more.

In such a cruel manner you were taken from me

As stark horror and pitiful darkness came to be.

Seeing you laying there gradually fading away,

Consumed by a savage monster, upon that day.

Hey Richard I lost my grandpa years ago but he was like a second dad to me . He showed me how to do things like work on cars ,fishing ,gardening and so many more .his loss is still felt to this day . I named my son after him in memory. ,I remember the good times and that keeps me happy through the years.losing someone is never easy when cancer is involved but I know he is better place by far.feel my hug your friend rock

My deepest condolences to you Richard. This a lovely sad write, I lost a family memeber to cancer and I believe the besg thing is to remember the time in their life when they weren't fading away.

I am getting emotional because I have lost so many family members to cancer and it is approaching the anniversary of my fathers passing.

Thank you for your kind words.

Hello Richard...

I know what you're feeling...

I'm very sorry for the loss of your Dad...

In a few weeks it's my mother's...

I lost her to cancer in 2004...

Two months later my Dad died....

We have to keep living and remember this life is temporary...

We will see our loved ones again...

Until then...

We're not finished...

They're watching over us...

They have no pain they have no more tears...

They have wings to carry us home...

I bet our parents are looking at us saying...

I can't really say what my Mom would be saying...

Especially if Jesus gave her some more wine...

Talk to your Dad he's not that far away...

God Bless!

Hugs...
