Poem -

THAT WAS THEN AND THIS IS NOW

Wet streets and pavements were part of my youth
Waiting outside for an empty telephone booth
Men in suits to watch the Saturday game
Everyone knew each other by their name

Neighbours would stop me and say hello
Always with a bag of sweets readily on show
Women would be round with a freshly made cake
With alterations on dresses they just had to make

How things have changed in our world today
Kids nowadays don't have the time to play
Too busy looking what is on their phone
Know it all before they are old and grown
