So right MP. Why do we who live today put an ounce of credence into what those who live thousands of years ago believed. What did they know indeed.
As with today it was all narratives for control. 

authority is the key, "modern  priests and preachers" claim authority so they can receive power and or money, as the adversary has been deceiving the multitudes since the beginning. The original twelve were given authority by the Father through The Holy Ghost, by the laying on of hands by His "authority" The Savior laid the foundation, and gave authority to his disciples, they recorded the Gospel with the influence of The Holy Ghost, and only with the gift of The Holy Ghost given by those in "authority" can you interpret scripture! yes! most all "priests" and "preachers" claim that authority in modern times just like the Pharisees of old! There was a falling away when the original disciples were martyred, and many "churches" have claimed" authority since then! The Gospel of Jesus Christ in its fullness has been restored! however, if you just have apathy because of all the deception throughout the ages and have given up searching for the truth, your deception is complete! You don't have to take my word or any mans word for it, you can read the Book of Mormon, written for our day, by prophets with authority, "the other sheep" the Savior went to..... another testament of Jesus Christ that confirms the Bible, pray about its truthfulness like it asks all to do in the name of Jesus Christ, and The Holy Ghost will testify to you of its "authority".  I testify of this in the sacred name of Jesus Christ. Please! don't give up on Jesus Christ! because Jesus Christ has not given up on YOU!
