The Angel

In the nighttime
is when the angel calls.
No one can see her
unless I allow it.
She is beyond the beauty
of all mortal beings.
She is my angel
only mine.
I can feel her sometimes
in my heart
She is begging for me
to let her out.
So that everyone
can see her.
But I keep her in prison
Deep inside me.
She is my angel
I don't share her with anyone.
If others could see her
They would think of me as weak.
I would lose my respect as a man
They would think of me with pity.
She must never be allowed
outside of me.
They must see me
as the man
Who takes no prisoners
Wins his deals
A man's man.
But then again.
When the night
Is blue and long
Soft moonlight dances
in your hair
Framing your head
like a halo
And the warmth of you
is touching me deeply.
I let her out of my heart
Just for you
to see her.
Only for you
my love
She alters
the glow of moonlight
That frames
your beautiful body.
She touches my lips gently
Changing my voice sofly
Almost to a whisper.
I say things
that I would never say
Dumb. stupid things
Like I love you so much
So very much
my love
And You
are the the cornerstone
Of my life.
Without you
I don't know who I am
Or where to go.
You are my safe harbour
In stormy weather.
I get so in need of you
My eyes fill with tears.
It's my angel doing it.
She changes me.
It part of her angels
magic spell
But then as the morning dawns
It's sunlight
into our bedroom window.
I put my angel
inside my heart again.
And get ready to face
the garish rude world
for just one more day.
