Poem -

The Barbican

Do you believe in time travel?
Who knows what's possible
Is there a way - To visit another space
Leave your rocket at home
You won't need it today

I'll take you to the BarbicanĀ
It's amazing there
Spend our days in a daze
We'll ride the elevators - through the ages
Be thrown back in time

Spin around the clocks
Up and down the tower blocks
Make sure to bring your flight socks
Now entering Concrete air locksĀ

Call for the lift - is anyone there?
Little old Mrs burton - from 133 ( a hundred and thirty third)
Off out for her groceries and paper
Wearing her space suit of Sunday's finest

I'll take you to the BarbicanĀ
It's amazing there
Spend our days in a daze
We'll ride the elevators - through the ages
Be thrown back in time

Space aged in designĀ  - Of a by gone era
Burnt orange carpets - Line triangular dimensionsĀ
Mid century marvel - Stands the test of timeĀ
Brutalist architecture towering - where the bombs once fell
