We brought you back home the very next day, your new life with us did then start;

For just after some days, we knew right away, your beauty was also within;

With a kind, loving spirit and gentilities gift, we felt our romance begin!

Our souls joined together and never would part, eternal the bond with their mate;

We chose then a name that honored you so, we called you “Nico The Great”!

Then started an era like none we’d e’er seen, so filled with nurture and love;

At nighttime before we’d both fall asleep, we thanked lucky stars, up above!

For sending us down this angel so blessed, that has made our lives such a joy;

For more than a doggie or merely a pet, we considered you “our little boy”!

For thirteen plus years, your heart beat so strong, you shared it with all that you knew;

But one wintery eve it got tired and slept, that terrible night we both lost you!

But now through all time your spirit lives on, it rests in both of our souls;

And Daddy is writing the world so they see, your beautiful heart so extolled!
