~ The Beauty In Losing ~

~ The Beauty In Losing ~

In the blissful awareness
Provided by the lingering smoke
Of the battlefield...

The profound recognition
Of the beauty in having lost
All you've fought for...

Comes a moment when you reach out
To the soldier beside you
And in slowly, simply, touching hands...

A most unexpected smile
Is uncovered
On your face.....

Wait..

Who, Me?

Let's play that football match
at truce time again -
It's the only way we can beat
Germany now!

I understand this poem Tony. Sometimes there can be victory in losing. My words don't do the write justice though. I should have just copied and pasted your poem in the comments section because you say it much better.

Take care  - Syd xo
