THE BERLIN WALL

Before the nineties had finished the wall came down 
Once considered the jewel in Germany's crown 
It separated two countries East and West 
I am referring to the Berlin wall if you haven't already guessed 

West Germany was considered modern and up to date 
East Germany was considered by many as a communist state 
It's hard to imagine two countries separated by a wall 
I am just so thankful in 1989 it happened to fall 

Germany is now unified and is one country at last 
The Berlin wall is now just a thing of the past
