Poem -

The Black Path

The Black Path

Blindly walking the black path
Ecstasy peppered with pain
Thick raindrops splash my forehead
A feeble attempt of redemption
The putrid oil of sour soil
Gray death smiles in the rain

A pea soup fog
Morning walkers with dogs
Where did this journey begin?
My eyes avert their questioning gaze
No sleep for days
I answer silently...
With saturated soul and skin

It certainly is the product of a walk and a thought Edward. Reflections of when I was younger.

Thanks for reading and leaving feed back.

Hi Syd...Great imagery that creates the greyness of a walk in the rain....I love poetry that makes me feel and see what the reader expresses...and this one definitely does that!  Thanks for sharing your amazing talent.  xo ;)

Thank you for your lovely comment Cherie. I'm glad you enjoyed the poem, it may have took me a while but hopefully I'm getting the hang of this 'poetry thing'.

I don't get much time to read others work much lately with working extended hours.

Hope you're keeping well  - Syd xo
