The Black Path

Blindly walking the black path
Ecstasy peppered with pain
Thick raindrops splash my foreheadΒ
A feeble attempt of redemptionΒ
The putrid oil of sour soil
Gray death smiles in the rain
A pea soup fog
Morning walkers with dogs
Where did this journey begin?Β
My eyes avert their questioning gaze
No sleep for days
I answer silently...Β
With saturated soul and skin
