THE BONE CONJURERS

An early evening shadow crawls lowly sleep
Sending Latin through the air on a cold nocturne
A wiry whirling dervish draws a crooked circle
As he prepares the blood of black otters
To conjure an evil bloodline's procreation
An old woman falls down dead, gray suffocation
Near the pit where the flames of Hell will burn her
Like a lonely necromancer wearing a dead man's topcoat
Like the trance-like state of a rotting soldier,
The bone conjurers jump seamlessly through nightmarish themes
All odd anticipation curdles, into green pathetic drips
Tapping out time on the old mausoleums of New Orleans
And preying upon the drunken innocent
But before daylight burns the bone conjurers devout devouring
They must growl at the gravediggers market place,
For all who perform such deeds as these
Are an abomination
To a most noble
And elegant
Blood lusting
Regime....
