THE BOWEL OPERATION

It was sad and upsetting to see you lying there 
With your tired looking eyes and unkept hair 
As I entered the Dilham Ward without any preconceived ideas 
To visit my mother of seventy three years 

The four hour operation according to the doctors went well 
To remove her left bowel and hopefully send cancer to hell
Take your time to rest and recover 
My dearest and loving sweetest mother 

So I finish my poem and leave the Dilham Ward 
Remember mum you are always loved, admired and adored
