The Brick Wall

Early In The Morning

The Brick Wall

Take my time

The air is brisk and fresh

Today the sun shines

I feel like I've had plenty of rest

Something warm running through my veins

I've felt like this before

I remember it from yesterdays

Feeling a familiar feeling as im walking out the door

I'll wait for you there

By the brick wall

In the winter air

But it kind of feels like fall

The wind has slowed

Feel it in my lungs

So much that I know

This time it has begun

Take it back

Subtract

Divide

The rope has slack

The slack of my mind

My thoughts calm

But usually they race

With sweaty palms

And not much grace

But not today

No not today

Today I'm relaxed in the early morning hours

I sway like a pendulum back and forth among the hour

To my own tune

I dance to my own beat

Feeling like June

Or maybe the September leaves

I'm here waiting for you

Dancing to my own beat

By the brick wall

You and I shall meet
