THE BURDENSTONE

He keeps in his pocket,
a stone that reminds him of her,
of everything they went through.
He forgives now...but then not so much,
he craved to touch her for years and years after,
it was the connecting that was visceral,
that he missed,
he throws glass in stone houses
just to be different,
but fine, this one time he throws the stone in a glass house,
along epicenter memories,
it always comes back,
boomerangs inward,
a mystical connection to memory,
the lifeblood of bliss and trauma,
alive in his burdenstone,
cut deep, some memories,
he remembers,
now brought to stasis,
he has become immune to melodrama,
now grown,
finally a man.
